SIGHTLINE is presenting its new AW 18/19 collection »Hibernation« that refers to a variety of references embedded in its designs, motifs and combinations of textile qualities. E.g. – in cooperation with the artist Mario Kiesenhofer, SIGHTLINE has chosen animals as motifs depicted by the modernist painter and illustrator Friedrich Heinrich Jungnickel (1881–1965) in order to reinterpret them for a new field of application: a tournament of ornaments, disorders, colours and cuts. The interplay of lightness and elegance is accompanied by a composition of various textile qualities: one can find transparent fabrics and heavy velvet next to clear shapes that are unfolding to pleats and profiles on the move. Bright colours are set against iridescent elements and raster graphics compete with depicted animals. The new collection »Hibernation« is heading for new borders of SIGHTLINE’s distinct mode of playing with antagonisms and frictions where an alert-eyed everyday is overlapping with images of daydreams.
